Committee on the Organization and Education (Committee O) of NMU AAUP/AFT 6761
Committee Purpose: The purpose of the Committee are to prepare the bargaining unit membership for contract negotiations through educational workshops and training; and to assist in the development of greater collegiality and unity among the membership through educating members on the principles of the Association.
Who can be a member?: Membership is open to all members of the bargaining unit, in good standing. An active member of the Committee, shall be any eligible person who indicates a desire to be so considered.
Committee Action: When a matter of importance arises which in the opinion of the Committee’s officers requires a resolution or other appropriate action on the part of the Committee, the officers shall announce the matter to the active membership and conduct a vote among those present at the following meeting, with provision for absentee ballots for those active members desiring them.
